Iran will attend in WSIS 2017

The World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) 2017 represents the world's largest annual gathering of the ‘ICT for development’ community. The annual WSIS Forum is a global multi-stakeholder platform facilitating the implementation of the WSIS Action Lines for advancing sustainable development. The Forum provides an opportunity for information exchange, knowledge creation and sharing the best practices, while identifying emerging trends and fostering partnerships, taking into account the evolving Information and Knowledge Societies.

Iran; like previous years, will attend this event to perform the following activities:

Attending High-Level Policy Sessions and making speech by key speaker authorities:

  1. The H.E Mr. Mahmoud Vaezi, The Minister of Information & Communication Technology of I.R. of Iran
  2. Mr. Nasrollah Jahangard, ICT vice Minister and Chairman of Information Technology Organization of Iran (ITO)

Arranging the following workshops within the event:

  1. Iran Country Workshop

This workshop will provide a brief summary of the performances, experiences and accomplishments of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the Information Society.

  1. E-Science and Sustainable Development in the Information and Knowledge Societies

This workshop focuses on the role of e-science in sustainable development of the Information and Knowledge Societies. After a short review on the pillars of sustainable development, the panelists will discuss about the elements of the e-science ecosystem and their impacts on sustainable development.

Setup an exhibit booth to demonstrate the Iranian achievements
